The day did not go to plan, I intended to walk the twin medieval village circular and then go on to the Hart village circular. However, when I got to the carpark near Wynyard and tried to get the drone flying I could not connect it with my phone so after 45 minutes of trying gave up and went home for some lunch. While at home I tried the drone again and it worked fine so continued on to Hart Village. It was a very warm walk, Souki struggled with heat. The drone worked fine at first but then for the second time the drone forward sensor failed. I have since spoke with the supplier and they have agreed to a refund.
Once I get the refund credited I am going to buy a GoPro Hero 6 and a good fitness tracker watch, I am thinking about the Garmin Fenix 5.
Todays walk was the first with the new rucksack weight of 26lbs I got on ok but because this is a cheap and nasty rucksack just for training with the hip straps are not great. This means most of the weight is on the shoulders which is not such a bad thing while training.
Only walked the short marina walk this evening after work, I needed to get home to charge the drone and get it ready for some filming around the marina tomorrow.
I got an ok sleep last night so managed the 5.1 mile marina walk with the 19lbs back pack. I almost opted for the shorter walk as I wasn't really in the mood but talked myself into the longer distance.
It has been a few days since my last walk, I have been struggling with my insomnia so my energy levels have fallen through the floor recently. Hopefully I have found a path through the insomnia, though not ideal it seems to be working.
Tonights walk was a little more successfull than last nights and a bit quicker pace than recently, a mild breeze and a few drops of light rain.
I had a few days off walking due to family issues and my depression, I purchased a new harness-backpack for Souki but trialing it on todays walk, I had to cut the walk short due to harness sliding around Souki and that was without the backpack part on. I can only imagine how unstable it would have been with weight in it. We only managed a 1.8 mile walk today. Souki's old harness-backpack is still in good condition (it is a K9 brand) but since I purchased it 5 years ago she has grown a bit more around her chest and it is quite tight. I am going to see if I can add a small section of webbing to give me a bit more adjustment.
A short 3.8 mile marina walk tonight (with 19lbs backpack), due to a late finish from work. Karen walked it with me tonight (almost killed her) think she need to put more miles in. Rhiannon was supposed to walk with me tonight but as expected she decided she could not be bothered.
Todays walk with Souki was the full Hartlepool marina walk with the full seafront walk to the far end of Seaton Carew. Pressure corn is still making things uncomfortable as is the rubbing from the new easy terrain walking boots. Oh well more pain and hopefully some gain, so far no problems carrying the 19lbs training backpack.
So todays full marina walk, 5.1 miles in the pouring rain was good, Souki didn't want to get wet for some reason she just sat at the front door to start with but once she was out she was fine. The pressure corn on the inside of my left little toe is still quite sore but no pain no gain.
